Beth Morris has a BA in Fine Art with concentrations in Painting and Ceramics. She received her MSLS from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2010 and began pursuing training in Book and Paper Conservation in 2012. Currently she is the Assistant Librarian at the Yale Center for British Art, Reference Library and Archives where she performs simple to complex treatments on a range of books and paper-based media. After creating the first formalized Preservation Program for the YCBA Reference Library and Archives Collection in 2012, Morris began intensively training through a number of courses and workshops to build a vital understanding of the field of Book Conservation. An article was published detailing the process of creating the program in Art Documentation in 2015 titled,  ‘Optimizing Collections Care: Configuring Strategies and Options for Unique Art Library Collections.’  Building on three years of training in bookbinding, historical book structures, basic paper and book repair methods, preservation for libraries, and chemical processes of materials, she began training under Head Paper Conservator Soyeon Choi (YCBA) in July 2015 and continues to train in Paper Conservation for works of art on paper on a weekly basis.
